Just imagine...Chinese paintings in your sweet home

  Stylish Chinese Paintings

Unlike pottery or fabrics, which people already know how to mix and match in home decor, Chinese paintings are usually considered only proper in classic Asia-themed rooms. Even in Mainland China or Taiwan, people would like to decorate their living rooms with Chinese paintings, but don't know how to do it, and the outcome is often disappointing.

To avoid these problems, here are some secret tips. For sure, the whole room's mofif is most important, which is comprised of the furniture and colors. So, when choosing paintings, the color and subject are most important for your room. You can decide the motif first, but always leave yourself open to tweaking it if one really charming painting appears.

Paintings first or motif first?

When setting aside a room to show off your ideas, choosing the pictures first, and building the motif from there is a nice and easy way to get started. For example, in this foyer (pictured left), we chose the "big painting" for the "big wall", which allowed us to mimic the "space motif" of Italian cathedrals. To match the painting's subject of "Venice", the ornate crystal lamp and deep red curtains were hung, as they were in the sixteenth century.

Of course, if you have already decided your motif, and are simply in search of good paintings to bring it alive, our collection is catalogued by subject and colour scheme. The master is also available for custom works.

Old and New

This living room area is more traditional, but to avoid such a strict Chinese style, we added Western-designed fabric to make "cushion cozies", balancing the whole feeling.

Building Bridges between Your Paitings and Your Furniture

This doesn't mean putting a real "bridge" in your home or office. If you already have a Chinese painting just waiting to decorate your room, but the feeling is just not right, try re-framing it with a frame that matches your furniture. You will be amazed by the new life that your painting brings to the room. Frames are very good bridges between furniture and painting itself.

Hope you can enjoy mixing and matching with paintings, and, most importantly, have fun!
